You know something needs to change.
This is where I can help.

Counselling and psychotherapy in Spitalfields, East London, and online across the UK.

Are you feeling stuck?

You have possibly have been here for a while.

Something is not right, and part of you probably already knows it. Maybe life keeps bringing you back to the same place. Maybe the people closest to you have noticed something is off. Maybe you have been telling yourself it is not that bad, that you should be able to cope, that now is not the right time.

But staying where you are is starting to feel harder than doing something about it.

Something you value, a relationship, your health, your sense of self, may already be at risk. The cost of not changing is becoming visible.

You do not need to know what to say. Simply reaching out is where change can start.

Matt Webster, BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist at Hopeful Tides, Spitalfields, East London

BACP Registered Counselling and Psychotherapy in East London

I am Matt, a BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist based in Spitalfields, East London, offering in-person sessions and online therapy across the UK.

I hold a First Class Honours degree in Gestalt Counselling and am currently completing a Masters in Psychotherapy and Counselling.

I am not someone who sits behind a clipboard analysing every word you say. I work in an active, engaging, and at times creative way, present with you in what is actually happening. I bring more than training to this work. My own lived experience of struggle, and the resilience it takes to change, means I can connect with the people I work with in a way that goes beyond the clinical.

How things can be different

You can begin to feel more like yourself.

You could be more secure in yourself as a person. A confidence and self worth that felt out of reach can begin to grow. You can start to believe in your ability to manage what life brings. You may no longer measure yourself against an impossible standard or compare yourself to others. The fear of failure can begin to loosen its hold.

You can become resilient, hopeful, and ready to act.

From surviving, to feeling enough, to wanting to live fully again.

What happens when nothing changes

Without support, the patterns tend to deepen.

What began as feeling stuck can become something heavier. Isolation grows. Relationships suffer.

The things that once brought meaning begin to fade.

The internal noise gets louder. Overthinking, rumination, blame. A slow withdrawal from life and the people in it.

For some, hope itself becomes harder to hold onto.

This is not inevitable. But when nothing changes... nothing changes.
