A Different Kind Of Therapy 

Therapy doesn’t always have to feel heavy, intimidating, or clinical. While it can involve working through difficult experiences, I aim to make the space feel active, engaging, and fulfilling. At times, this can also include more creative ways of working, which can support a deeper exploration of your experience beyond just talking.

I’m not someone who sits behind a clipboard analysing every word you say. I’m present with you, engaged, responsive, and working with you in what’s actually happening in the moment. My own lived experience has shaped how I am in the room. It allows me to meet people in a way that goes beyond theory, with a level of understanding that comes from having faced difficulty myself.

I see people as unique human beings, each shaped by their own experiences, rather than problems to be fixed. I genuinely value being able to support people through difficult moments in their lives, and to be alongside them as things begin to shift.

You may have spent a lot of time trying to work things out on your own, thinking things through, trying to hold it together, or hoping things will change....yet still finding yourself in the same place.

My way of working focuses on helping you get closer to what is actually happening for you, so you can make changes where it actually matters in your life.

Together, we can explore;

  • anxiety, overwhelm, or shutting down

  • difficulties in relationships

  • low self-worth or self-criticism

  • addiction, trauma, or feeling stuck in the same cycle

Talking matters, but sometimes words alone are not enough. Where helpful, I also work in more active, creative, and engaging ways to help you connect with yourself in a way that feels more real than simply analysing things from a distance.

My way of working focuses on helping you get closer to what is actually happening for you, so you can make changes where it actually matters in your life.

You might already understand your difficulties, but still find the same patterns repeating in anxiety, relationships, or how you respond to stress.

How this can help

Gestalt therapy is based on the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Rather than seeing a person as a set of separate problems, symptoms, or behaviours, it understands experience as something shaped by the whole person and their relationship with the world around them. It places particular emphasis on immediate awareness and present experience.

What is Gestalt therapy? 

Gestalt focuses on what is happening as you live it. For example, noticing how anxiety builds, how you react in relationships, or how habits like overthinking or shutting down take hold.

By working with these experiences more directly, it becomes easier to see what is keeping things going, and begin to respond differently in a way that actually makes a difference.
