Meet Matt Webster:
Counsellor and Psychotherapist

How to Stop People Pleasing
Without Feeling Guilty

I am Matt, a BACP registered integrative counsellor and psychotherapist based in Spitalfields, East London. In this short video I introduce myself and how I work with clients. I offer counselling and psychotherapy to adults and young people, in person locally and online across the UK. If you are looking for a counsellor and want to see who you would be working with before getting in touch, this video is a good place to start.

Do you say yes when you mean no? This video looks at why people pleasing develops and shares three practical tips: building a pause before you answer, starting with low stakes no's, and noticing guilt without letting it decide for you. People pleasing can be unlearned.

Is Anxiety Normal,
or Is Something Wrong With Me?

How to Build a Daily Self Care Routine
That Actually Sticks

Anxiety is not a fault in you. It is part of how we are built to stay safe. In this video I explain what anxiety actually is, and why trying to force it away often makes it louder. I share three things that help: welcoming the feeling instead of fighting it, noticing anxious thoughts rather than believing them straight away, and getting curious about where anxiety lives in the body.

Self care is not selfish. It is a necessity. In this video I share three simple ways to build it into your day: taking ten minutes away from your phone, writing down two things you did well before bed, and saying one kind thing to yourself out loud. Small habits like these build the same compassion for yourself that you would naturally give someone else.
